OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Jessica Johnson
Jess is one of our passionate + dedicated therapists whose warmth and kindness shine through in everything she does. Jess grew up in a small country town before moving to the sunny Gold Coast to complete her studies at Bond University. A morning person who loves starting her day at the beach, planning healthy meals for the week, and bringing a calm energy into her work. For Jess, kindness is free — and she brings this belief to every client interaction, always listening with a gentle, encouraging approach. She’s committed to upskilling and staying at the forefront of best practice to ensure she’s providing the highest standard of care.
“I love supporting my clients across the lifespan, from children to older adults. I use principles of occupational therapy, psychological, and physical rehabilitation frameworks. I typically draw from core OT models such as the Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) Framework, the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO), the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement (CMOP-E), and Occupational Adaptation. I also use ACT, mindfulness-based strategies, and a strengths-focused, trauma-informed lens to support clients’ emotional wellbeing. For my physical clients, I apply Motor Learning theory, and Sensory Integration techniques to address their physical and sensory needs, helping clients build confidence, skills, and independence in their daily lives.”
