Caitlin Mumme
SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST | TEAM LEADER | PSYCHOSOCIAL LEAD
Caitlin is a Senior Occupational Therapist with over three years of experience supporting individuals with neurodivergence, psychosocial conditions, & complex life experiences. She works primarily with teenagers and adults, with a strong passion for supporting individuals navigating identity, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful life participation, particularly those diagnosed later in life. Caitlin is passionate about supporting neurodivergent people to better understand themselves, build on their strengths, and engage in a life that feels authentic and sustainable.
Caitlin is deeply committed to neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, & holistic practice. She believes that occupational therapy is not defined by a single approach, but rather a versatile skillset that can be adapted to support each person’s unique goals, strengths, and environment. Her work is grounded in a simple philosophy: “What matters to you, not what’s the matter with you.”
She takes a highly individualised and practical approach to therapy, focusing on emotional regulation, sensory processing, and impulsivity, while also supporting individuals experiencing challenges related to mental health, including conditions such as dissociative disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality, and substance use. Caitlin has a particular interest in harm reduction approaches, supporting clients to build safety, insight, and sustainable strategies in the context of alcohol and other drug use and self-harm. She also brings a strong understanding of how Autism and ADHD can present across the lifespan, including in more subtle or internalised ways, and integrates this into her therapeutic approach.
Caitlin is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Psychology (expected completion late 2026) and continues to engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen her clinical practice. She enjoys thinking outside the box and working collaboratively with clients to develop meaningful, real-world strategies that support long-term change.
Originally from Townsville, Caitlin now calls Brisbane home. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring local markets, attending live music and concerts, solving escape rooms, and finding what makes every small town unique. She has a love for all things pink, capybaras, movies and music, and the musical Wicked.
Caitlin often reflects on the idea that “life is like a cha-cha—sometimes we need to take a few steps backwards before we can move forward,” and brings this perspective into her work to support clients through the natural ups and downs of growth and change.
