Navi Wijesundara
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST | PSYCHOSOCIAL THERAPIST
Navi is our vibrant and passionate occupational therapist with a wealth of knowledge + experience in physical and psychosocial disabilities. A self-proclaimed tea enthusiast, Navi enjoys spending time with family and friends, curating musical playlists, + indulging in her love for Italian cuisine. Her warmth and authenticity shine throughout her sessions, making her clients feel seen + supported. Navi completed her tertiary studies at James Cook University prior to relocating to Brisbane to complete ongoing professional development in psychosocial approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), + Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT).
“My practice is grounded in core occupational therapy frameworks such as the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO), the Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) Framework, and Occupational Adaptation. I integrate these with evidence-based approaches including Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based interventions, Gratitude Practices, Neuropsychotherapy, and the Three-Phased Approach to Trauma Treatment. Through this blended approach, my goal is to help individuals understand and effectively manage distressing thoughts and emotions in everyday life and cultivate a sense of purpose, meaning, and motivation by reconnecting with personal values and daily gratitude.
