OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST | PHYSICAL & PSYCHOSOCIAL
Ruby Cheesman
Ruby is our Occupational Therapist, known for her bubbly, warm, and approachable nature, as well as her genuine passion for supporting adults to build confidence, independence, and quality of life in their everyday environments. Ruby supports individuals across both psychosocial and physical occupational therapy presentations, bringing a practical, person-centred approach to her work.
Ruby has a strong interest in adult occupational therapy, psychosocial disability, functional capacity, physical health, and supporting clients to engage more meaningfully in their daily routines, communities, relationships, and goals. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, support workers, treating teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure therapy feels coordinated, purposeful, and aligned with each person’s needs.
Known for being kind, easy to talk to, and naturally engaging, Ruby places a strong emphasis on rapport-building and creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported. She understands the importance of working alongside each person at their own pace, while maintaining a clear focus on practical outcomes, independence, and functional progress.
Originally from country Victoria, Ruby brings a grounded, warm, and down-to-earth energy to her work. Outside of occupational therapy, she loves music, singing, and Pilates, and brings that same sense of energy, connection, and joy into the way she supports her clients and collaborates with the wider team.
